Tada Junnosuke, the director of Tokyo Deathlock, is active both domestically and internationally in a variety of theatrical styles, including the staging of plays from all over the world, past and present, audience participation and touring productions, dance works, international co-productions, and citizen participation works. Since opening in 2018 in Hitojukucho, Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City, Hitojukucho Yadorigiza has been open to the local community as a place for people to interact with each other, professional and amateur, not just as a place for creative presentation, under the slogan “The theater is FULL opening.” This commemorative work was presented as the result of a workshop in April 2024, and was reconstructed and performed as the closing work of the theater, which was sadly decided to close in July of the same year, and was performed as a single stage. Using the non-verbal communication technique without dialogue that focuses on the presence and finiteness of the body, which Tada has used in his previous works, the work depicts loneliness, encounters, partings and their aftermath, and is directed to the many encounters that took place in a small theater in Shizuoka and the future to come.The work will be performed at the Toyooka Theater Festival as the next step for Yadorigi-za and to create new encounters originating from Shizuoka.
