- Amuumeru
Amuumeru is a theater group founded by actresses Reiko Tahara and Yukiko Kizaki, who belong to the theater company Seinendan. It originated from Tahara’s question, “How can theater and everyday life be seamlessly integrated?” Until now, they have performed in familiar places such as temples, galleries, and cafes.

The theatre collective “amuumeru” presents a two-person play performed in cafés.
This year, we are also embarking on the “amuumeru Café Theatre in Toyooka Theater Festival” tour, visiting three cafés connected to the Tajima region!
“Sitting Next to Me” is a relaxed and intimate performance that can be enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea in hand, as if overhearing a conversation from the next table. Over the course of a slightly peculiar 30 minutes, laughter and sadness unfold right beside you.
And who knows? You might even catch a special appearance by the café owner or staff!
This tour visits three wonderful cafés, each with its own unique character: “Sabou Yashiro,” a long- established café near Toyooka Station; “Kominka cafe Okami,” nestled in nature overlooking the Sea of Japan in Kami Town; and “Cafe98°C” offering panoramic views of the famous Arayu hot spring source and the Yumura Onsen town.
We hope you’ll enjoy discovering how the atmosphere of each venue gently shapes the
experience of the performance.
A small story, open to anyone who would like to stop by.
