Residency Period: Sep.8(Mon) – Sep.15(Mon)
This project is a cross-disciplinary project in which creators from the fields of food, performance art, film, and architecture reinterpret the “food commons” from their respective fields and develop cross-disciplinary creations. Focusing on the concept of “place = commons,” which was once cultivated in matriarchal societies, the project reconstructs urban space as a sensory place where people and tools, body and technology intersect. Aiming to create a “place where meaning emerges” where the body intersects with the city, the project questions the boundaries between the past and future, others and the self, and the artificial and natural, and attempts to establish a platform for physical perception through “food,” which is essential to humanity. During this residency, project member Hashimoto will investigate the coexistence and interaction of food culture and art, and conduct research toward creating a performance piece that combines food and contemporary dance.
