What is “Clap Mates”?

My body seems to be saying something to you. And your body seems to be saying something to me.

My body seems to be saying something to all of you—friends, colleagues, neighbors, convenience store clerks, and so on. And all of you—friends, colleagues, neighbors, convenience store clerks, and so on—seem to be saying something to me through your bodies.

Do we really spend our lives interpreting each other’s non-verbal messages? Come to the Yabu Civic Plaza (YB fab) to see for yourself.

This is namstrops’s third year creating works together with the people of Yabu. Having worked with many children and seniors, this year the dance company is finally embarking on a truly multi-generational collaboration. They are coming all the way from their base in Miyazaki to perform a “danceless dance” developed here in Yabu.

The performance will consist of two parts:

Part 1(Video): “Dance Collection”
Part 2 (Dance): “Learn About Me Through Dance!”
