Take off your title and sit on a leisure sheet

Chiniashi : Feet on Ground “parking” is a fieldwork-style performance project centered on the act of spreading a leisure sheet in a park and simply being there — presenting an affirmation of existence to society.

At the Toyooka Theatre Festival, we will spread leisure sheets across various locations in Toyooka, Kinosaki, and Ebara, putting “parking” into practice. Anyone is welcome to join and spend time freely in this space.

“Parking” is a practice that representative Yuki Uemizu has been continuing since 2024 — opening a space by spreading a leisure sheet in a park. It generates a place where people can share their existence with others as simply “themselves,” free from profession or title.

This time, we will carry out this practice while staying and moving through locations with different environments, documenting the process through video and anthropological fieldwork methods. The documentation will be exhibited and presented on September 23rd from 12:00 at Machi no Kichi Antenna in Toyooka City.

Step away from your everyday roles and come experience the time of simply being in the same place as someone you’ve never met.

Chiniashi

A project unit built around the practice that representative Yuki Uemizu has continued since 2024 — “opening a space by spreading a leisure sheet in a park” — with the aim of sharing its significance with society. Three members with distinct areas of expertise — Yuki Uemizu (park practitioner), Yu Mizukami (anthropology practitioner), and Makiko Yamazato (life practitioner / planning & production) — share a single question and create together. Chiniashi : Feet on Ground actively presents works, actions, and spaces that affirm human existence from a place close to the ground.
